Size charts decoded for UIDBuy orders
The sizes on Chinese store pages are the seller's own. This page shows how to turn a seller chart into a yes or no, using a garment you already own and a tape measure.
A seller's chart is a garment, not a body

Nearly every chart on the stores behind our picks lists garment measurements taken flat: length from the shoulder's high point, chest pit to pit, sleeve, and for trousers the waist laid flat, hip, length and leg opening. None of it is your body. The easy way to use it is to lay your own best-fitting piece on a table, measure the same lines, and compare.
Doubling the flat chest gives the garment's round chest, which is the number a Western chart would print. A chart that runs in 斤 (jin) is not a size chart at all but a weight guide: one jin is half a kilogram, so “120–140” means a wearer of 60 to 70 kg.

Twelve menu words that change the answer

Option menus are copied into the catalog untranslated, so the Chinese matters. 均码 means one size, which is fine for a cap but not for a hoodie. 可调节 means adjustable. A bracket after a size, as in L (58–60 cm) on one of our beanies, is the most useful thing a seller can write. Colours are often named only by number; the number follows the order of the listing photos, but sellers do not always keep to it.
How each fit band handles sizing
No tape needed
Bags quote their own dimensions in the menu (29*13*17 on one of our picks: width, depth, height in centimetres). Pendants come on one chain length, printed in every option line. Nothing here depends on your body.
Letter sizes
The trap is assuming an L here equals an L at home. The letter carries no fixed meaning between shops: one store's L is another's M, and a boxy cut moves the numbers again. Only the chart decides. When a store lists sizes out of order (S, M, XL, L appears on several menus), check you clicked the one you meant.
Measure first
Caps quote a head range, 55 to 60 cm on the most generous of ours; measure round your head at the brow. Chains sold by length quote inches with centimetres in brackets, and the two do not always match: 16 inches is 40.6 cm, which a menu may round to 40. Shoes come in EU sizes with an insole length in millimetres if the seller is careful. Measure your own insole, not your foot. Jeans list waist in centimetres or in 尺 (chi); one chi is about 33.3 cm, so a 2尺4 waist is about 80 cm round. Joggers with elastic waists are forgiving on the waist and unforgiving on length.
Check the gap before you order
Type one number from your own garment and the matching number from the seller's chart. The tool gives the difference in both units and a plain verdict. It is the first of two tools on the workbench page; the second does parcel weight and storage dates.
Rule of thumb behind the verdicts: two centimetres on a flat measurement is within the normal spread between two copies of the same garment; four is a different fit.
